Barcelona esquece Di Maria e vira-se para Gonzalo Castro

"Mallorca attacker Gonzalo Castro has emerged as a possible summer transfer target for Primera Liga champions Barcelona, according to Sport.

With the Balearic outfit in the process of filing for bankruptcy in the Spanish courts, the 25-year-old Uruguayan winger could potentially be available at a knockdown price which may sway the Blaugrana's attentions away from other transfer targets.

While Barca are reportedly interested in Valencia's Juan Mata and Angel di Maria of Benfica, who is also a target of Real Madrid, these players would command vastly larger transfer fees, especially with the World Cup looming.

As a result Chori Castro may prove a more economical alternative given the high outlay for the signing of David Villa and the continued pursuit of Cesc Fabregas.

Castro is capped 15 times by Uruguay but was not selected for the finals by Oscar Tabarez despite some excellent performances for the Barralets this season."
